Customs - Past and Present
Tubá
Tubá is one of Bobon's well-
known produce. It is
everyone's wine, liquor, or a
combination of both. It is
made from the coconut tree
by tuba gatherers known
locally as manangete. Bobon's
tuba is known to most
Northern Samarenos as one of
the best especially after it
becomes a bahalina.
The Bandillo
Many years ago before the advent of the electronic public address
systems, the municipio made its announcements to the townspeople
through the bandillo. With the resonant sound from a tin can and stick,
someone would announce the coming of the town crier, usually a
policeman, who would proclaim the announcements of the day. These
announcements were usually ordinances and local laws that affected
the townspeople.

AN IROY NGA TUNA
An iroy nga tuna matam-is pagpuy-an
Bisan diin siplat puros kasangkayan
A-adi an hingpit nga ak kalipayan
Sira Nanay, Tatay, pati kabugtuan.
Lugaring kay hiblong, sa dughan batiun
Inin Pilipinas dayuday uripon
Ay tuna nga akon natawhan
Hain daw an langit nga ak panumduman
(Repeat All)

MABUHAY (sung with vigor in a marching beat)
We say mabuhay!
We say mabuhay!
Under the blue skies,
Where our friendship starts.
A greeting, a farewell,
A toast that we wish well;
We lift our voices,
And say ma-bu-hay!
We lift our voices,
And say ma-bu-hay!
